Sampai saat ini, lebih dari 60 publikasi ilmiah telah ditulis Prof Taruna Ikrar. Beberapa di antaranya terbit pada jurnal ilmiah yang berprestise tinggi, antara lain Nature dan Science, sehingga menjadi salah satu rujukan bagi ilmuwan dari seluruh dunia
Prof Taruna Ikrar tercatat sempat bekerja di sejumlah kampus ternama dunia, antara lain Niigata University (Jepang) and University of California, Irvine (Amerika Serikat). Nantinya selama menjabat sebagai dekan CSBS, kata Taruna, pihaknya berencana menjalin kerja sama dengan beberapa perguruan tinggi Indonesia yang membina pendidikan kedokteran.

Taruna Ikrar menjelaskan, CSBS termasuk unggul di dunia dalam bidang advanced medicine karena telah menghasilkan penemuan-penemuan penting.
