Soetantyo kemudian berbagi cerita tentang sejarah Mukidi. Semua berawal pada tahun 1990-an. Saat itu ada acara radio Prambors Ida Krishna Show, kisah Mukidi bermula dari sana. Acara ini kemudian pindah ke Delta FM, tapi kisah Mukidi tetap lestari lewat mailing list.
"Cerita Mukidi masuk ke mailing list, masuk ke situs tentang joke," jelas dia.
Kemajuan internet membawa kisah Mukidi ke blog dan situs yang lucu-lucu. Hingga pada 2009, Soetantyo membukukan kisah Mukidi-nya, dan lahir tiga buah buku.
"Kisah Mukidi dulu juga saya pakai untuk ice breaker. Saya dulu kerja di perusahaan farmasi, dan saya suka melakukan presentasi di depan dokter," ujarnya.
Bicara soal Mukidi, bagaimana awal mula nama Mukidi?
"Ya saya nemu saja, nama itu kan gampang diingat. Nama Mukidi itu menggambarkan orang yang sederhana dan lugu, saya nemu saja nama ini. Tidak ada inspirasi dari sosok tertentu," tegas pria asal Purwokerto ini.
Mukidi, dalam kisah-kisah lucunya memiliki istri Markonah dan anak bernama Mukirin dan Mukiran. "Kalau diwujudkan usianya 40-an tahun," tuturnya.
Nama Mukidi di kawasan Purwokerto dan sekitarnya memang kerap dipakai. Bahkan dalam lawak Dono Kasino Indro pernah disebut soal joke mengenai Mukidi ini.
"Dalam gambaran saya Mukidi ini tinggal di Bekasi dan kerja di Jakarta dari Bekasi naik TransJ, wajahnya lumayan ganteng lah," ungkapnya dengan derai tawa.
Setiap hari, Soetantyo selalu memposting kisah Mukidi di bukunya ke laman facebooknya. Satu hari satu cerita. Dan setelah viral di WA, dia mengaku semakin riuh komentarnya.
